The
City's Parking Department manages more than 11,500 on-street parking
spaces, six parking garages and 64 surface parking lots. The Department
is organized into three divisions, Administration, On Street and Off
Street.
The Administrative Division has total responsibility
of the financial and operational needs of the Department. In addition,
the City's Residential Permit Parking Program and special use permits
are also administered by this Division.
The On-Street Division coordinates the activities
associated with traffic engineering, on street metered parking and
parking enforcement programs. All regulatory functions, including
signage, residential and valet parking programs are supervised in
this Division.
The Off-Street Division manages the City's parking
facilities and special events. The primary responsibilities are the
administration of contracted services for security, cashiers, facility
maintenance and custodial services.

The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm.
The City's Parking Regulations are in effect twenty four hours.
ON
STREET PARKING METERS
The City of Miami Beach maintains approximately 10,000 parking meters.
Meter
rates and time limits are based on the demographics of each area,
with consideration given to the level of parking activity and market
rates for off-street parking in the geographic area. For example,
parking in high-density commercial areas, such as South Beach's Ocean
Drive, cost more than the outlying neighborhoods of Middle and North
Beaches.
The current parking meter rates are:
$1.00 per hour from 23rd Street to South Point.
Meters are enforced from: 9:00 a.m. until midnight, 7 days a week
$ .50 per hour from 23rd to 87th Streets.
Meters are enforced from: 8:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., 7 days a week

LOTS
The City of Miami Beach operates and maintains 64 surface parking
lots. A majority of our parking lots are equipped with central pay
stations. These stations accept the following form of payments: cash,
credit cards, debit cards, and parking meter cards.

PARKING
GARAGES
7th
Street and Collins Avenue Garage is a state of the art parking
garage with 646 spaces and available 24 hour a day. The facility is
patrolled by a security force and close circuit cameras monitor each
floor. The entrance to the garage is located on 7th Street.
12th Street and Drexel Avenue Garage provides convenient parking
for shoppers and diners to the Washington Avenue business district
with 134 spaces. The facility is available 24 hours a day.
13th Street and Collins Avenue Garage is located in the heart
of the Art Deco District, one block west of Ocean Drive with 286 spaces.
The entrance is located on 13th Street. The facility is available
24 hours a day.
17th Street Garage is adjacent to the Theater of the Performing
Arts, within walking distance to the Miami Beach Convention Center
and Lincoln Road mall with shops, restaurants, art galleries and studios.
The garage is five stories in height and can occupy up to 1460 vehicles.
The facility's main entrance is on 17th Street across from Convention
Center Drive. The facility is available 24 hours a day.
42nd Street Garage services shoppers and employees of 41st
Street (Arthur Godfrey Road) business district. The garage is five
stories in height and can occupy up to 620 vehicles. Hours of operation:
Monday thru Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. (except access cards
holders).
