REQUEST INSPECTIONInspections are performed from 8:00am to 3:30 pm., Monday through Friday.
The approved job copy of the plans, Notice of Commencement, approved permit and permit card must be at the construction site and the address properly posted and visible from the street. The job to be inspected must be accessible. An OSHA approved ladder must be available if needed.

The City of Miami Beach Building Department proudly uses the I.V.R. (Interactive Voice Response) System. The I.V.R. system will accept inspection requests or cancellations and will provide information on inspection results. The system is designed to perform these functions without having to speak to a customer service representative. Anyone who has access to a touch-tone service telephone can use the I.V.R. System. If a customer calls from a rotary-dial phone, the call will automatically transfer to a customer service representative.
The I.V.R. System is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call anytime the I.V.R. System does not take time out. The I.V.R. System is designed to respond immediately to incoming calls. The I.V.R. System can guide customers through every step of the inspection process. How to Use the (I.V.R.)I.V.R. requires a touch-tone telephone and that the customer have the following available:
1. Dial (305) 673-7370
2. Press for the Permit Type
3. Enter Permit Number
<1> Schedule in inspection
<2> Cancel an inspection
<3> Hear inspections results
5. Enter the six (6) digit PIN NUMBER and then the # sign
6. Enter the Inspection Code for information regarding the scheduling of the inspectionPlease note: Inspections requested prior to 5:00pm are performed the next business day.
Schedule an Inspection Online
To ensure that only valid contractors can schedule inspections, a Validation Rule is in place that will require the contractors to be activated before inspection scheduling is allowed. Validation requires contractors to submit a signed and notarized form acknowledging responsibility for online scheduling transactions. Contractors will also have to register with the vendor (Accela) online and provide contract information, a password, and an email address. We will use this email address (which will be their user ID) to validate contractors before allowing them to schedule inspections.
