Homebuyer Assistance Program
The City funds various programs to assist home buyers, and provides assistance to existing homeowners. Applicants for these programs must meet specific income eligibility requirements. Depending on the form and level of assistance provided, the City may attach a “covenant” on the property’s deed for a limited amount of time.
The Home buyer Assistance Program provides assistance to income-eligible home buyers in the form of silent mortgages, down payment and closing costs assistance. First-time home buyer counseling is also available and provides assistance in helping potential home buyers prepare for home ownership opportunities.
The program also provides assistance for the rehabilitation of the housing units being acquired, or for currently-owned units.
