Location
The Jackie Gleason Theater of the Performing Arts is located in the heart of the historic Art Deco District in Miami Beach. Just one minute from America's most spectacular beaches and 18 minutes from Miami International Airport. The theater is also walking distance to Lincoln Road shops, world-famous restaurants, shops, and colorful art galleries.

Next to the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC), the beautiful Art Deco theater was remodeling as part of the $92 million MBCC renovation. The theater is easily accessible from anywhere in South Florida via Interstate 95 and the Florida Turnpike. For complete directions call (305) 535-0255.

The Jackie Gleason Theater has 2,705 seats using an orchestra and mezzanine seating plan with a flexible hydraulic orchestra pit. Additionally, there are 3 private rooms available to host catered events.

The theater has separate Box Office, concession and novelty stands and valet parking available. There is also a municipal parking lot directly across from the theater.

The Jackie Gleason Theater has hosted such events as Broadway Shows:  Rent, Stomp, Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof; Dance:  American Ballet Theatre with Rudolph Nureyev, the Bolshoi Ballet, Alvin Ailey; Symphony:  Boston Pops, Moscow Philharmonic, New York Pops Orchestra; Opera:  Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti; and Contemporary Performances:  Tori Amos, David Copperfield, Lizamine, Tony Bennett, and Tracy Chapman.

As part of the MBCC, the Gleason is managed by Spectacor Management Group (SMG), the world's premier company for public assembly facilities. The Philadelphia based firm operates 63 arenas, stadiums, convention centers, theaters and amphitheaters in the U.S. and Europe.

Q. Where is the Jackie Gleason Theater?
A. In the heart of Miami Beach's Art Deco District, 1700 Washington Avenue.

Q. Where can I get my tickets?
A. At the theater box office, Monday through Friday, 10:00 am - 5:30 pm., at all Ticketmaster outlets, Dade (305) 358-5885, Broward (3954) 523-3309, Palm Beach (561) 966-3309, Visa, Mastercard & American Express are accepted at the box office. Q. Are there senior citizen and student discounts?
A. Yes. Miami Beach senior citizens may receive up to 75% off ticket prices. Tickets go on sale the third or fourth Monday of the month for next month's shows. Photo ID with proof of age and residency required. Miami Beach students may purchase remaining tickets on the following Tuesday. Public school ID required. Q. What's the seating like?
A. Luxurious, comfortable, plenty of room, excellent visibility of stage and performers.

Q. What about acoustics?
A. State of the art! The Gleason is equipped with the Jaffe Electronic Reflected Energy System (ERES), which recreates the clear sound of concert hall acoustics.

Q. Can I take my camera or recorder?
A. Cameras are permitted in the theater at the discretion of the artist. Flash photography is strictly prohibited. Video taping, recording of performances and bringing recording equipment inside the theater is prohibited.

Q. Are concessions available?
A. You'll find a delicious variety of food and drink at the theater, including shrimp cocktails, cheese & fruit platters, croissants, desserts, gourmet coffees, wine, soda and champagne. Food and beverages are not permitted inside the seating area.

Q. How and when do I get there?
A. From I-95 North or South: Get on I-195 east (Julia Tuttle Causeway). Follow and take the Alton Road exit South, to 17th Street and turn left. Theater will be on the corner. Doors generally open one half hour to one hour prior to show time. In consideration of performers and fellow patrons, late comers will be seated during performance breaks.

Q. Where do I park?
A. Valet parking is available for a nominal charge. Secure parking is available on the south side of 17th Street, directly across from the theater. Additional parking is available in the municipal parking garage on 17th Street.

Q. What if I have special needs?
A. The Gleason is proud to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. We offer: handicapped parking on Jackie Gleason Drive, modified ramps and curbs for easy theater access, modified orchestra seating to accommodate wheelchairs, an infrared listening system and handsets, suitable accommodations for sight impaired patrons & handicapped accessible restrooms.
