City of Miami Beach

"Carl Fisher Collection"

The Carl Fisher Collection of Monuments exemplifies the contribution of Carl Fisher, co-founder of the City of Miami Beach, as a key figure in the development and success of Miami Beach as a highly recognized residential, cultural, and resort destination in the United States with his early incentives to adorn the City's landscape with outdoor sculpture.

All six (6) pieces were commissioned by Carl Fisher and created by the artist Ettorie Pellagato in the early 1920's as part of Fisher's attempt to establish a cultural significance and permanence to a new territory of nationwide development.
