South Pointe Streetscape Public Plaza Project  - The voter approved General Obligation Bond list includes the "South Beach Neighborhood Improvements." As part of these improvements, an Art in Public Places component will provide an aesthetic improvement to the pump station location. This public art installation will integrate with the public plaza improvement at the intersection of Washington Avenue, Third Street, and Euclid Avenue. View the Work in Progress

 

About the Artist:

Paul Fullerton has Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Florida in Gainesville, and a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Illinois. He has taught sculpture at the School of Visual Arts, Parsons School of Design, and Cooper Union in New York City, and Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. The artist has been commissioned for numerous public art projects and completed major restorations projects locally, nationally, and abroad. The artist has works included in the inventory of the Smithsonian American Art Museum. He currently resides in Coral Gables and Mexico.

About the Project:

Miami Beach Art in Public Places has commissioned the artist Paul Fullerton to enhance the public plaza intersection of 3rd Street and Washington Avenue with a structure or screen to mask the existing above-ground pump stations. The illuminated sculpture "Corona del Mar" will measure approximately 16’ x 22’ x 19’ and be made of cast stainless steel.
