APPLYING FOR A PERMIT
TO FILM IM MIAMI BEACH
Film & Print permits
are required for individuals or businesses wishing to conduct
commercial film, television, video and photography projects taking
place on public property, at residential locations, when city services
are required or when productions may have an impact on
traffic/residents/city services.
TO APPLY FOR A PERMIT
YOU WILL NEED THREE THINGS:
- Valid Indemnity Agreement
- Valid Certificate of Insurance
- Completed Permit Application
Indemnity
Agreement
This agreement must
be completed and submitted to this office before any permits may
be issued. Indemnity agreements must be completed by someone at
your company that can sign legal documents and must carry a corporate
seal or be notarized. For the first permit a faxed copy may be
accepted, but an original should be on file with this office for
all additional permits. Indemnity Agreements are valid for one
full year after the date first completed - this means you only
need complete this document once each year. If you have any questions

Certificate of General Liability
The City of Miami Beach also
requires a Certificate of General Liability Insurance with a
minimum coverage of one million ($1,000,000) dollars per
occurrence, per person and accident. If your company is based in
Florida and employees 5 or more people, please ask your insurer to
include proof of workers compensation insurance on the
certificate. The certificate must name The City of Miami Beach
as an addition insured on the certificate. Faxes will be accepted
for the first permit, but an original should be on file with this
office.
Permit application (TWO OPTIONS, please read carefully):
OPTION A:
If your production will utilize Miami-Dade County locations and/or services (including police, using County roads, using or relocating MDTA bus stops, etc.), use the Filmiami.org one-stop permit and apply at http://www.co.miami-dade.fl.us/filmapp/ftemplate.asp. Miami-Dade County will charge a non-refundable $100.00 permit application fee. This is not a Miami Beach fee.
OPTION B:
If your production will film exclusively within the City of Miami Beach and will not utilize Miami-Dade County services, you may permit via the Filmiami.org system 24 hours a day or by filling out the City of Miami Beach Film and Print Permit Application and returning it to the Miami Beach Film Office Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm only, to receive a Miami Beach Film Permit. There is no application fee associated with the Miami Beach Film and Print Permit Application.
