Celebrate at City Hall as Miami Beach Turns 88 on March 26

Miami Beach, FL – From its beginning, the soft, sandy shoreline that lines the radiant blue waters is the foundation to one of the world's greatest playgrounds -- Miami Beach. With Biscayne Bay and the City of Miami to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the City of Miami Beach, founded on March 26, 1915, is a favorite for international and domestic visitors and home to over 88,000 residents.

Come celebrate Miami Beach’s beginnings and what is to come on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at Miami Beach City Hall. Mayor David Dermer will kick off the day at 10:00 a.m. with the delivery his State of the City Address in the Commission Chambers. The Mayor’s address will be followed by a re-dedication of City Hall, the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new Answer Center, and a birthday cake blow out.

Scheduled events include: a pictorial exhibition in the Fourth Floor Gallery tracing the history of our city which is scheduled from March 10 – April 10, 2003; the launching of the City’s newly designed website; and the debut of the City’s new Answer Center, aimed at streamlining and enhancing customer service.
