End of Youth Camp Concert Encourages Voting
--Vote Miami Beach Campaign Continues--

When: Friday, August 5, 2005

Time: 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Where: North Shore Park & Youth Center, 7250 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach

What: As part of the Vote Miami Beach initiative, the City of Miami Beach will host a last day of summer camp celebration and encourage kids to get out the word and tell their parents to vote. This initiative is also an attempt to get children interested and knowledgeable about voting and the importance of registering to vote. There will be a special performance by Speedy Legs, a local break dancing/ beat boxing group that will, promote voting and encourage kids to inform their parents about voting. Kids from all Miami Beach recreational parks will be transported to enjoy the two hour performance. The happy campers will take home fliers and information for their parents about voter registration drives and parents will also be able to register to vote at the event.

Who: 500 children ages six to 17 years old, Miami Beach Commissioner Richard Steinberg, and Vote Miami Beach volunteers.
