North Shore Open Space Park Gets a New Name
(Miami Beach, FL) Feb 14, 2018 -
For over 24 years, North Shore Open Space Park has been a staple of the North Beach community. As the largest city park and the location of the city’s only bark beach, the outdoor space has been a beloved retreat for residents of all ages in the NoBe area. Now, the city is giving the park a new name to reflect its extensive impact and rightful identity.
Today, the Miami Beach City Commission unanimously agreed to re-name North Shore Open Space Park to North Beach Oceanside Park in an effort to keep consistency in the creative branding of the vibrant community.
“Back in the day, South Beach was referred to as South Shore,” shared City Manager Jimmy L. Morales. “As the name changed so did the energy of the area. We hope to do the same with the renaming of the park and, in conjunction with continued the implementation of the North Beach Master Plan, welcome a new era for North Beach while staying true to its roots.”
