Why did they increase?
The City of Miami Beach is pursuing a multi-pronged approach to address traffic congestion. Parking rate increases are proposed to: (1) fund transportation initiatives such as our free trolley system and (2) modify parking behavior to encourage the use of city garages and surface lots.
When did these rates increase?
New rates became effective Monday, October 12, 2015. Parking rates are set by City Ordinance and were approved as part of the budget hearings. Public hearings took place on September 10 and September 30, 2015.
Did the parking garage rates increase?
Parking garage rates have not increased, they remain at $1/per hour for all city garages.
How can I save money?
Take advantage of lower hourly rates at city parking lots and garages in South Beach and East Middle Beach. You can save up to 75% by parking in city lots and garages instead of at curbside meters. Visit your App store to download the ParkMe – Miami Beach app to locate garages and lots near you.
