Learn to Skate (Mondays Only)

Scott Rakow Youth Center’s Learn to Skate Program offers lessons for all ages and abilities.  From our toddler program, beginning at age three, to our advanced beginner classes for the more experienced skaters, we have a class level for your skater.  Our program teaches the students compulsory techniques from both USFS and ISI figure skating organizations.  Each class meets for a half hour once/week followed by a 15 minute practice session. Our rink is closed during all bank holidays; therefore, classes will be cancelled on such bank holidays. Please dress your skaters in the appropriate skating attire such as: sweatshirt, sweater, and/or jacket, gloves (not mittens), stretchy pants that give when moving (no jeans), long thin socks, and a big smile!!!

GROUP LESSON SCHEDULE

Rental skate fees are INCLUDED in the resident rate. Non-resident fees do not include skate rental for classes. If skate rental is needed for a non-resident please inform a concession attendant at the time of registration; additional fee will apply. Skate rental ticket must be retrieved at the concession ticket booth and yellow skate rental tickets must be turned in at the skate counter in order to recieve skates. Please remember to stop at the concession booth before every class. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the start of each lesson. ALL GROUP LESSON SKATERS ARE REQUIRED TO PAY $13 ANNUAL USFSA BASIC SKILLS MEMBERSHIP FEE PER YEAR.
