BICYCLE PROGRAM
CURRENT PROJECTS
Interim Striping Project:
In an effort to begin immediate implementation of proposed bikeways in the Atlantic Greenway Network (AGN) Master Plan, the Public Works Department has surveyed roadways within the AGN that have sufficient pavement width to stripe bike lanes immediately. The identified roadways which can presently accommodate bike lanes are as follows:
• 16th Street, Bay Road to Washington Avenue • Prairie Avenue, 28th Street to 42nd Street • 73rd Street, Dickens Avenue to Collins Avenue • Euclid Avenue, 5th Street to 16th Street
As part of this project, the Public Works Department has striped bike lanes on 16th Street. Bike lanes will be striped on Prairie Avenue by the end of October 2007. Striping plans for Euclid Ave and for 73rd Street are awaiting approval from Miami-Dade County Public Works Department and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Once the plans are approved, striping will begin.
