1. Extensions of Time

a. DRB File No. 9606J, 234 Washington Avenue - The Washingtonian. The applicant, Abe Resnick Trustee, is requesting a one (1) year Extension of Time to obtain a Full Building Permit for a previously approved Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval for the demolition of an existing one (1) story CBS structure and the renovation and relocation of an existing one (1) story bungalow to the front of the property, in conjunction with the construction of a seven (7) unit, four (4) story townhome structure to be located directly behind and adjacent to the relocated bungalow. 

APPROVED: For six (6) months. 

b. DRB File No. 10370J, 865 Collins Avenue - The Skylark Hotel. The applicant, Deco Suites, is requesting a six (6) month Extension of Time to obtain a Full Building Permit for a previously approved Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval for the partial demolition and alteration of the west elevation of an existing structure in order to accommodate a new storefront opening.

APPROVED: For six (6) months.

 

Previously Continued & New Projects Requiring Demolition:

1. 1700 JAMES AVENUE

a. DRB File No. 12106J, 1700 James Avenue - James Avenue Apartments. The applicant, Michele Grendene, is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review Approval for the partial demolition, substantial renovation and restoration of an existing residential structure.

b. HPB File No. 1124, 1700 James Avenue - James Avenue Apartments. The applicant, Michele Grendene, is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness for Demolition for the partial demolition of an existing residential structure, in conjunction with the substantial renovation and restoration of said structure.

 

APPROVED: Subject to minor site plan and landscape modifications. 

2. 1020 OCEAN DRIVE - CLEVELANDER HOTEL

a. DRB File No. 12105J, 1020 Ocean Drive - Clevelander Hotel. The applicant, 2K South Beach Hotel, LLC, is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review Approval for the partial demolition, substantial renovation and restoration of an existing hotel structure and pool deck, as well as the construction of a five (5) story addition.

b. HPB File No. 1123, 1020 Ocean Drive - Clevelander Hotel. The applicant, 2K South Beach Hotel, LLC, is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness for Demolition for the demolition of an existing gym structure, in conjunction with the substantial renovation and restoration of an existing hotel structure and pool deck, as well as the construction of a five (5) story addition.

 

CONTINUED: To 11/16/99 in order to address various design issues.

3. 1111 COLLINS AVENUE - TUDOR HOTEL

a. DRB File No. 12104J, 1111 Collins Avenue - Tudor Hotel. The applicant, Tudor Hotel Associates, Inc., is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review Approval for the construction of an exterior terrace, outdoor bar and perimeter wall.

b. HPB File No. 1122, 1111 Collins Avenue - Tudor Hotel. The applicant, Tudor Hotel Associates, Inc., is requesting an after-the-fact Certificate of Appropriateness for Demolition for the demolition of an existing exterior terrace and perimeter wall, in conjunction with the construction of a new exterior terrace, outdoor bar and perimeter wall.

CONTINUED: To 12/14/99 in order to address disclosure of interest issues. 

4. 1601 - 1627 WASHINGTON AVENUE - LINCOLN PLACE

a. DRB File No. 12110J, 1601 - 1627 Washington Avenue - Lincoln Place. The applicant, 16th Street Partners, LLC, is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review Approval for the removal of an existing grade level municipal parking lot and the demolition of three (3) existing structures, in order to construct an eight (8) story office and public parking structure, with ground level retail.

b. HPB File No. 1125, 1601 - 1627 Washington Avenue - Lincoln Place. The applicant, 16th Street Partners, LLC, is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness for Demolition for the removal of an existing grade level municipal parking lot, as well as the demolition of three (3) existing structures and the partial demolition of a fourth structure, in conjunction with the construction of an eight (8) story office and public parking structure, with ground level retail.

CONTINUED: To 11/16/99 in order to address design issues relative to the corner of the structure.

Previously Continued Matters:

1. DRB File No. 11938J, 7301 Collins Avenue - Manhattan International Bakery. The applicant, Joaquim Bras, is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review Approval for the renovation and alteration of an existing one-story commercial structure and construction of an outdoor seating area.

APPROVED: Subject to exterior modifications.

 

Revisions to Previously Approved Plans:

1. DRB File No. 10512J, 740 Collins Avenue. The applicant, R.L. Fashions of Florida, Inc., is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review Approval for revisions to previously approved plans for the construction of a one (1) story retail structure, in order to install exterior and interior lighting, as well as interior display graphics.

APPROVED: Subject to the elimination of supergraphic.

 

Previously Continued Matters

1. DRB File No. 11584, 2900 and 2901 Collins Avenue - The Regent Hotel (a/k/a Seville Beach Hotel). The applicant, Seville Beach Hotel Corp., is requesting Design Review approval for the demolition of three (3) existing apartment structures, in conjunction with the phased construction of an eight (8) story condo/hotel tower and five (5) level parking garage at 2900 Collins Avenue, as well as the renovation of an existing hotel and cabana structures at 2901 Collins Avenue, inclusive of a five (5) story rooftop addition.

CONTINUED: To 1/11/2000 

    1. DRB File No. 11471, 2021 - 2031 Meridian Avenue - Meridian Manor. The applicant, Jonathan Fryd, is requesting Design Review approval for the construction of an eight (8) unit, five (5) story townhome-apartment building to be located between two existing garden-style structures.

 Revisions to Previously Approved Plans

1. DRB File No. 6653, 90 Alton Road - Yacht Club at South Beach. The applicant, the Yacht Club at Portofino. Ltd., is requesting Design Review Approval for revisions to previously approved plans for the construction of a 34 story condominium building with low-rise apartment units at the pedestal level, in order to introduce a new curb-cut on the south elevation.

New Projects

1. DRB File No. 12107, 1140 Alton Road - Friends of the Lubavitch. The applicant, the Friends of the Lubavitch, Inc., is requesting after-the-fact Design Review Approval for an existing supergraphic and various architectural features.

2. DRB File No. 12108, 1661 Michigan Avenue - Lincoln Plaza. The applicant, Lincoln Plaza Partners, L.L.C., is requesting Design Review Approval for the removal of an existing grade level municipal parking lot and the demolition of two (2) existing structures, in order to construct a seven (7) story office and public parking structure, with ground level retail.

3. DRB File No. 12109, 7100 Fisher Island Drive - Fisher Island. The applicant, Fisher Island Holdings, L.L.C., is requesting Design Review Approval for the construction of three (3), ten (10) story residential structures, with a total of 128 units.

 4. DRB File No. 11989, 100 Washington Avenue - Courts at South Beach. The applicant, Courts at South Beach, Ltd., is requesting Design Review Approval for a one (1) story commercial structure with a drive-thru on block 380, revisions to the exterior design of the structures on block 78 and 778, and the redesign of phase four (4) of the project including the reintroduction of Meridian Avenue, as well as an eight (8) level residential structure with ground level commercial space.
