How Can I Request Records?
Submit a request via email, fax, or in person. Download the form by clicking here: Records Request Form
Email the form to firstname.lastname@example.org, or fax it to 786.394.4050. Also, a request may be submitted at the Records’ window, located at the Building Department’s main office, 1700 Convention Center Drive, second floor lobby. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays. The Building Department, including the Records’ Section, closes for lunch from noon to 1:oo p.m.
What Types Of Records Are Kept?
Permit and Inspections history, permit drawings, permit applications, and various Building related documents. All records are available on letter to ledger size prints. Digitized documents are also available on CD.
The Building Department has an inventory of Building Cards which is the permit history of a building from inception to 1989.
How long does it take?
The process usually takes between five to seven business days. Permit drawings that have already been digitized can be processed within minutes.
Where can I pay the invoice?
Customers can make payments online, at the kiosks (iPads) located at the Building Department’s main and North Beach offices, or at Finance Department’s cashiers located at City Hall, first floor. Fees are based on the current Fee Schedule as listed in the Records’ Request Form.
