Permit Walk-Through Service

The Building department has improved the plan review and permitting process by providing a 24-hour walk-through service for certain permit types.

Customers to obtain a 400 series ticket at the Homeowners’ Permit Assistance Counter, (1st floor of City Hall), Monday – Friday, from 10 a.m. until noon. The permit application, a routing sheet, and the plans securely bound must be submitted to a Permit Clerk on the second floor of City Hall once the provided ticket number is called in. Plans will be internally walked-through by staff.
Customers can pick up their plans the next day between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and they are encouraged to check CSS before coming to City Hall. Plans must be picked up within 2 days of completion of the review.

All walk-through processes are limited to (1) one per customer at a time. Customers who previously obtained process numbers for plan review can process (2) at a time. The following is a list of permits that can be processed as walk-through: List of Permits.

For revisions of plans, new sheets need to be inserted on top of the marked voided pages, and two sets of narrative responses should also be provided. Check here for additional information on the newest changes in plan review processes.

Please note that permits to correct violations are to be dropped-off only.
