There are three committees coordinated by the Division that support the City in the development of strategies to provide housing and services to income eligible residents. The committees meet on a regular basis, and benefit from the input of volunteer board members. Community Development Advisory Committee:
The Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) reviews funding requests for the Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnerships Program. CDAC is a 14-member volunteer board that meets monthly, with the exception of August and December. City Commissioners appoint members of the Committee.
Loan Review Committee:
The Loan Review Committee of the City of Miami Beach reviews funding applications for housing initiatives. The Committee is a 7-member board that meets monthly, with the exception of August. City Commissioners appoint members of the Committee.
Affordable Housing Advisory Committee:
The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee is required by the State for all jurisdictions that receive State housing funding. The Committee is responsible for reviewing the City’s processes, policies and ordinances to recommend monetary and non-monetary incentives for the development of affordable housing, including recommending actions or initiatives to encourage or facilitate the development or retention of affordable housing, while protecting the ability of the property to appreciate in value. Members are appointed by the Commission.
