• On August 21, 2007, Labor Relations was selected as a finalist for the Innovative Business Solution Award by SHRM.  As part of SHRM’s Human Capital Leadership Awards, the honor recognizes the Department for its key role in driving the performance and reputation of the City through the “Working Together” campaign designed to leverage the collaborative partnership between management and union employees as a catalyst for organizational effectiveness and enhancement of the City’s overall strategy.
  • All Labor Relations employees were nominated and received the August 2006 and September 2006 “At Your Service” Employee(s) of the Month award for their valuable and distinguished work in 2006. The award was presented at the October 2006 City Commission meeting.
  • The Labor Relations Director, Linda Gonzalez was awarded the 2006 National Public Employer Labor Relations Associations’ (NPELRA) Pacesetter Award. This Award is given to individuals who have demonstrated particularly innovative leadership in public sector labor relations by the NPELRA which is a nationwide organization comprised of over 2,000 public sector professionals employed by federal, state and local governments, schools and special districts.
