Fine Art Virtual Camp

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Fee per Week: $100 (MB Residents Only)
Class Description: Simple, easy-to-follow art activities that will require little to no help from an adult.  Students will create one fun mixed media project per day. Lessons include air-dry clay chocolate truffles, string art, watercolor painting, shrinky-dink charms (requires an adult to bake in the oven for 2 minutes), and a painting on canvas. Supply kit included with class available for pickup Friday before class begins. Space is limited.

Fine Art Virtual Camp

Class Description: 5 day program with 2-hour live training, session & 2 hour self-paced project. This exciting and innovative program will allow students to deep dive into programming logic with Scratch, the easy to learn, drag-and-drop creative learning environment developed by MIT Media Lab. Over the course of 5 days. students will utilize a number of code blocks and characters to gain an understanding in computational and logical thinking, creating animated stories and games. The engaging design of Scratch will enhance the learning process, making it simple for students to develop the necessary and essential STEM skills for our tech-driven society. Space is limited.

Class Description: 5 day program with 2-hour live training, session & 2 hour self-paced project. The Coding & Startup Entrepreneurship Program follows a curriculum that moves students through hands on activities, teaching them the basics of business ideation, building a website, and pitching their businesses. During this program, students flex their creative muscles building out business ideas while learning how to code their first websites. By the end of the program, students have learned how to build their first websites in HTML & CSS. At the very end, students pitch their business ideas to a panel to judges, Shark Tank-style for a small cash prize of $100. Space is limited.

Class Description: 5 day program with 2-hour live training, session & 2 hour self-paced project. This introductory Python course will give students an introduction to computational thinking and logic through utilization of the programming language Python – one of the fastest growing programming languages available today. Students will be introduced to object-oriented concepts and will see how this knowledge is tied to algorithms, cryptography and machine learning. The ultimate aim is to teach the students a basic introduction to Python so that they may be able to put it towards practical use such as creation of a calculator capable of numerical solutions and problem solving. They will be assessed on functionality, presentation and add-ons. Space is limited.
