Join us for open chess play to practice, learn and sharpen your skills in a friendly environment. All skills levels are welcome. Sharpen your skills or learn to play. A National Scholastic Chess Foundation instructor will be available to help both new and experienced players. 

Fire Cadet Graduation *Postponed due to inclement weather

The Miami Beach Fire Rescue Cadets will be graduating on Sunday, May 22, at Miami Beach Fire Station 2. The graduation ceremony and certificate presentation will commence at 10:00 a.m. The cadets will perform a fireground demonstration at 10:45 AM which will showcase the Fire and EMS skills they have learned.

Hands-Only CPR Training

June is CPR & AED Awareness month. The Parks and Recreation Department is inviting the community to register to learn the two simple steps of Hands-Only CPR, call 9-1-1, push hard and fast in the center of the chest until help arrives.

Magical Puppet Show
Muss Park – 4300 Chase

The Parks and Recreation Department is inviting the community to a magical puppet show at Muss Park. Admission is $3.00 per person and includes 45-minute puppet show, popcorn, arts & crafts, and goodie bag.  Puppet Show starts at 11:30 am. 

MLB Jr. Home Run Derby
Flamingo Park Baseball Stadium (1435 Michigan Avenue)
June 5 |10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Ages 12 & Under | 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Ages 14 & Under
The Parks and Recreation Department is inviting the Youth Baseball community to participate in the Major League Baseball Jr. Home Run Derby (Jr. HRD). The Jr. HRD is an event series for baseball players ages 12-14 to showcase their hitting skills, compete against peers, and earn a spot at the National Finals, which take place during the 2022 MLB All-Star Week. Camp for Tots Meet & Greet

The Parks and Recreation Department is extending a special invitation to families who want to meet their child’s summer camp counselor before the first day of camp. Parents are encouraged to take this opportunity to meet one-on-one with staff and tour the facility.
