Wayne A. Jones<\/strong>\u00a0\u00fcbernahm am 1. September 2023 die Rolle des 21. Polizeichefs des Miami Beach Police Department. Chief Jones absolvierte 27 Jahre lang eine herausragende Karriere in der Stadt Miami Beach und durchlief verschiedene Positionen, darunter Streifenpolizist, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain und Major, bis er 2019 schlie\u00dflich zum stellvertretenden Polizeichef aufstieg. Seine langj\u00e4hrige Erfahrung hat unserer Stadt gro\u00dfen Nutzen gebracht. Insbesondere w\u00e4hrend seiner T\u00e4tigkeit als Sergeant im Bereich der Gemeindeangelegenheiten legte er den Grundstein f\u00fcr das mittlerweile landesweit anerkannte Homeless Resource Officer Program, das einen umfassenden Ansatz f\u00fcr \u00d6ffentlichkeitsarbeit, Engagement und Durchsetzung verfolgt.<\/p>\n

In seiner Funktion als Major f\u00fcr die Unterst\u00fctzungsdienste leitete Chief Jones eine strategische Initiative zur verst\u00e4rkten Rekrutierung weiblicher Polizistinnen ein, die zu einer Erh\u00f6hung der Einstellungszahlen von 121 auf 181 Polizistinnen f\u00fchrte. W\u00e4hrend seiner T\u00e4tigkeit als Major in der Kriminalpolizei baute er au\u00dferdem die Abteilung f\u00fcr Menschenhandel auf. Diese Einheit leitete anschlie\u00dfend die Ermittlungen und Festnahmen im Miami-Dade County wegen Menschenhandelsdelikten.<\/p>\n

Chief Jones erwarb einen Bachelor-Abschluss in Politikwissenschaft und \u00d6ffentlicher Verwaltung an der Florida Memorial University sowie einen Master-Abschluss in \u00d6ffentlicher Verwaltung an der Florida International University. Sein Bildungsweg umfasst au\u00dferdem einen Associate Degree am Miami Dade College in Berufspilotenwesen und Technologie. Er ist ein angesehener Miami Fellows (Klasse II) Alumni.
