Chief Digna Abello ist die erste Frau an der Spitze der Feuerwehr von Miami Beach seit der Gr\u00fcndung der Beh\u00f6rde am 26. Januar 1921. Mit ihrer einstimmigen Ernennung ist Chief Abello zugleich die erste Frau in der Geschichte des Miami-Dade County, die als st\u00e4dtische Feuerwehrchefin dient.<\/p>\n

Seit Beginn ihrer Karriere als Feuerwehrfrau in Miami Beach vor \u00fcber 19 Jahren orientiert sie sich an einem starken moralischen Kompass und der \u00dcberzeugung, dass F\u00fchrung bedeutet, sich f\u00fcr das Wohl anderer einzusetzen. Von Beginn ihrer Karriere an zeichnete sie sich schnell aus, stieg in der Feuerwehr auf und engagierte sich in allen wichtigen Angelegenheiten und Initiativen der Abteilung.<\/p>\n

W\u00e4hrend der COVID-19-Pandemie leitete Chief Abello die umfassende Reaktionsstrategie der Feuerwehr, darunter das Impfprogramm der Beh\u00f6rde, das \u00fcber 13.000 gef\u00e4hrdete Einwohner impfte. Sie engagiert sich f\u00fcr exzellenten \u00f6ffentlichen Dienst und \u00fcberwachte zwei strenge Akkreditierungszyklen, um die prestigetr\u00e4chtige ISO-Klasse-1-Einstufung der Beh\u00f6rde durch das Insurance Services Office aufrechtzuerhalten \u2013 eine Auszeichnung, die nur etwas mehr als 1% der 37.983 teilnehmenden Feuerwehren in den USA vorweisen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n

Obwohl sie sich geehrt f\u00fchlt, die erste Frau im Amt der Feuerwehrchefin zu sein, hofft sie inst\u00e4ndig, dass mehr Frauen eine Karriere bei der Feuerwehr in Betracht ziehen und F\u00fchrungspositionen anstreben.
