B\u00fcrgermeister und Kommissare werden in \u00fcberparteilichen Wahlen in ungeraden Jahren als stadtweite Vertreter gew\u00e4hlt. Die Amtszeit des B\u00fcrgermeisters betr\u00e4gt zwei Jahre, maximal drei aufeinanderfolgende Amtszeiten. Die Amtszeiten der Kommissionen sind gestaffelt, sodass nicht alle Kommissare gleichzeitig zur Wiederwahl antreten.<\/p>\n<p>Als gew\u00e4hlte Amtstr\u00e4ger stehen der B\u00fcrgermeister und die Stadtr\u00e4te den B\u00fcrgern zur Seite, die sie in Angelegenheiten der Verwaltung und des Betriebs der Stadt Miami Beach um Unterst\u00fctzung bitten. Durch die Verabschiedung von Verordnungen und Beschl\u00fcssen, die Pr\u00fcfung und Genehmigung von Angeboten und Auftr\u00e4gen sowie die Vergabe von Zertifikaten und Proklamationen arbeitet die Stadtkommission an der Verbesserung der Lebensqualit\u00e4t, der wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung und der Verbesserung der Kommunikation zwischen Stadtverwaltung und Gemeinde.<\/p>\n<p>Die Mitarbeiter des B\u00fcros erg\u00e4nzen die Bem\u00fchungen der Stadtkommission und vermitteln den gew\u00e4hlten Amtstr\u00e4gern ihre W\u00e4hlerschaft. Sie arbeiten auch direkt mit der Stadtverwaltung zusammen, um die Probleme und Anliegen der Bev\u00f6lkerung zu l\u00f6sen.
