April 2025<\/h2>\r\n<h3>\u2013 Politiker in Miami Beach fordern den Gesetzgeber auf, historische Geb\u00e4ude zu sch\u00fctzen \u2013<\/h3>\r\n<p><strong>Miami Beach, FL \u2013 <\/strong>W\u00e4hrend sich Miami Beach auf die Feierlichkeiten zum 100.<sup>th<\/sup> Anl\u00e4sslich des Jahrestages der weltber\u00fchmten Art-d\u00e9co-Architektur schlagen die Verantwortlichen der Stadt dringend Alarm vor einem Gesetzentwurf, der derzeit im Senat von Florida verabschiedet wird und der jahrzehntelange Bem\u00fchungen zur Denkmalpflege zunichte machen und dem Charakter und der wirtschaftlichen Struktur der Stadt dauerhaft schaden k\u00f6nnte.<\/p>\r\n<p>Die Stadt veranstaltet eine <strong>Pressekonferenz <\/strong>An <strong>Dienstag, 29. April 2025, 11 Uhr<\/strong>\u00a0vor dem <strong>Cardozo Hotel, 1300 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach<\/strong> um die Gesetzgeber des Staates aufzufordern, die Zukunft der historischen Viertel zu sichern.<\/p>\r\n<p>Die Bedrohung geht vom Live Local Act aus, einer staatlichen Ma\u00dfnahme, die durch Au\u00dferkraftsetzung lokaler Bebauungsvorschriften Anreize f\u00fcr bezahlbaren Wohnraum schaffen soll.<\/p>\r\n<p>Die vom Gesetzgeber vorgeschlagene Ausweitung des Live Local Act hat in historischen Gemeinden wie Miami Beach ernsthafte Bedenken ausgel\u00f6st, denn ohne entscheidende Schutzma\u00dfnahmen k\u00f6nnte die Senatsversion des Gesetzesentwurfs dazu f\u00fchren, dass das weltber\u00fchmte historische Art-Deco-Viertel von Miami Beach abgerissen wird. Dabei w\u00fcrden ikonische, niedrige, zwei- und dreist\u00f6ckige historische Geb\u00e4ude durch moderne Hochh\u00e4user ersetzt und die Architektur, die die Identit\u00e4t der Stadt ausmacht und ihre Wirtschaft antreibt, f\u00fcr immer ausgel\u00f6scht.<\/p>\r\n<p>W\u00e4hrend das Repr\u00e4sentantenhaus von Florida in der vergangenen Woche durch die \u00c4nderung des Gesetzesentwurfs 943 wichtige Fortschritte beim Schutz historischer Geb\u00e4ude erzielte, enth\u00e4lt der Gesetzesentwurf 1730 des Senats keinen dieser wichtigen Schutzma\u00dfnahmen \u2013 und setzt die historischen Viertel und die dazugeh\u00f6renden Geb\u00e4ude von Miami Beach einem umfassenden Abriss und einer umfassenden Neubebauung aus.<\/p>\r\n<p>Die Stadtf\u00fchrer fordern die gesetzgebende K\u00f6rperschaft des Staates Florida auf, die Integrit\u00e4t der vom Handelsausschuss des Repr\u00e4sentantenhauses an HB 943 vorgenommenen \u00c4nderungen zu wahren und sicherzustellen, dass der starke Schutz historischer Wahrzeichen erhalten bleibt.<\/p>\r\n<p>\u201eDie historischen Viertel von Miami Beach sind Teil unserer kulturellen Identit\u00e4t\u201c, sagte <strong>Steven Meiner, B\u00fcrgermeister von Miami Beach<\/strong>\u201eDer Verlust der lokalen Kontrolle \u00fcber H\u00f6he und Dichte f\u00f6rdert eine Entwicklung, die weder unserer Infrastruktur noch den Bed\u00fcrfnissen unserer Bewohner entspricht. Wenn wir unsere historische Bausubstanz erst einmal verloren haben, bekommen wir sie nicht zur\u00fcck. Wir m\u00fcssen das sch\u00fctzen, was Miami Beach so ikonisch macht \u2013 und das beginnt mit der Rettung unserer historischen Viertel.\u201c<\/p>\r\n<p>Die ge\u00e4nderte Fassung des \u201eLive Local\u201c-Gesetzes sch\u00fctzt mehr als 2.600 historische Geb\u00e4ude in Miami Beach, darunter rund 1.800 Geb\u00e4ude der Kategorien Art d\u00e9co, Postwar Miami Modern (MiMo) und Mediterranean Revival. Diese historischen Geb\u00e4ude befinden sich in national ausgewiesenen Bezirken, die Miami Beach pr\u00e4gen und Besucher und Einwohner aus aller Welt anziehen.<\/p>\r\n<p>\u201eWir fordern den Gesetzgeber dringend auf, den Abriss der historischen Geb\u00e4ude, die das Fundament des Charakters, des Wohnungsbaus und der Wirtschaft von Miami Beach bilden, nicht zuzulassen\u201c, teilte <strong>Miami Beach-Kommissar Alex Fernandez <\/strong>der sich in Tallahassee f\u00fcr den Denkmalschutz der Stadt einsetzt. \u201eUnsere historische Architektur erz\u00e4hlt nicht nur unsere Geschichte \u2013 sie treibt unsere Wirtschaft an, bietet Wohnraum f\u00fcr unsere Arbeitskr\u00e4fte und macht Miami Beach zu einem globalen Reiseziel. Der Schutz dieser Geb\u00e4ude dient nicht nur der Erhaltung der Geschichte, sondern auch dem Schutz des Wirtschaftsmotors von Miami Beach. Art d\u00e9co unterscheidet uns von allen anderen K\u00fcstenst\u00e4dten und macht uns nach Disney World zum zweitgr\u00f6\u00dften Touristenziel Floridas.\u201c<\/p>\r\n<p>Die vom Senat vorgelegte Gesetzesfassung w\u00fcrde es Bautr\u00e4gern erlauben, Grundst\u00fccke in Gewerbegebieten \u2013 viele davon mit zwei- und dreist\u00f6ckigen Mehrfamilienh\u00e4usern \u2013 ohne \u00f6rtliche Genehmigung abzurei\u00dfen und neu zu bebauen. Diese k\u00f6nnten durch T\u00fcrme ersetzt werden, die so hoch sind wie das h\u00f6chste Geb\u00e4ude im Umkreis von einer Meile, in manchen F\u00e4llen sogar bis zu 150 Meter hoch \u2013 also fast 50 Stockwerke.<\/p>\r\n<p>Die Bedrohung erstreckt sich auch auf historische Viertel wie Flamingo Park und das North Shore Historic District, wo ein Gro\u00dfteil des in Miami Beach nat\u00fcrlich vorkommenden erschwinglichen Wohnraums und des architektonischen Erbes aus der Mitte des Jahrhunderts gef\u00e4hrdet w\u00e4re.<\/p>\r\n<p>Die Stadtf\u00fchrung warnt, dass das architektonische Erbe von Miami Beach zerst\u00f6rt werde, wenn die Legislative den Denkmalschutz des Repr\u00e4sentantenhauses nicht aufrechterhalte.
