Exceptions to the foregoing may be approved by a majority vote of the City Commission for individuals with specific knowledge or expertise relative to iguana remediation or other invasive nonnative species remediation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Powers and Duties\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Committee will serve to study actions taken by other jurisdictions to prevent, eradicate, and control the spread of invasive iguanas and advise the City Manager and the City Commission on potential actions available to the City in addition to contracting with an iguana mitigation and removal services, including, without limitation, recommendations regarding the Administration&#8217;s competitive solicitation for iguana mitigation providers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conflict of Interest.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In accordance with Florida law, under circumstances presenting a conflict of interest, an advisory board member should abstain from voting with respect to any measure in which the advisory board member has a personal, private, or professional interest and which inures to his special private gain or the special gain of a principal by whom he is retained. The City Attorney&#8217;s Office liaison shall assist advisory board members in addressing any potential voting conflicts, as necessary.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Administrative Liaison \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The supporting departments for the Committee shall be the City Manager&#8217;s Office\u00a0and the Public Works Department.
