There are two work areas: on Drexel Avenue and on Meridian Avenue, both major connection streets between the Miami Beach Convention Center, New World Symphony, City Hall and the businesses on Lincoln Road.<\/p>\n<p>Lincoln Road at Meridian Avenue began in January 2026 and completion is expected before year end. The Lincoln Road District Phase II Improvements along Meridian Avenue from 17 Street to Lincoln Lane South will improve safety, walkability, and the overall visitor experience to support local businesses, cultural institutions and events. The following scope of work is included in this project:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enhancing the pedestrian experience approaching Lincoln Rd.<\/li>\n<li>Installing new trees including palms and new planters<\/li>\n<li>Widening sidewalks and installing pavers from 17 St. to Lincoln Rd.<\/li>\n<li>Installing new water, sanitary sewer and storm drain system infrastructure between<\/li>\n<li>17 St. and Lincoln Road<\/li>\n<li>Building a new crosswalk at Lincoln Lane North (across Meridian Ave.)<\/li>\n<li>Constructing a raised landscape median between Lincoln Lane North and 17 Street<\/li>\n<li>Reinstalling and upgrading bike lanes<\/li>\n<li>Upgraded lighting and signalization<\/li>\n<li>Repaved roadway<\/li>\n<li>New signage, trees, landscaping and irrigation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While construction is underway, restaurants and retail on Lincoln Road remain open for business to all locals and visitors! The Meridian Avenue work is in Phase II of three planned phases along the Lincoln Road District. It advances the City&#8217;s long-term vision to enhance walkability, cultural programming and public spaces.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\" tabindex=\"-1\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-1\">How will businesses and the public benefit from this project?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-1\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Once complete, Meridian Avenue will function as a safer, more inviting corridor that enhances the pedestrian experience, improves access to local businesses, and supports making the overall Lincoln Road District better. Construction will be completed in stages as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Stage One: <\/strong>The contractor will close Meridian Avenue to vehicles from just north of Lincoln Lane South to 17 Street in order to begin underground work. Sidewalks and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout this phase, but no vehicles or bicycles are allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Stages Two and Three<\/strong>: The contractor will begin all the above-ground work; one lane of traffic will be open on one side of the road (northbound or southbound), while the other side is closed for construction. On-street parking along Meridian Avenue from 17 Street to Lincoln Lane South will also be closed during construction.
