Ella reemplazar\u00e1 al jefe del Departamento de Bomberos de Miami Beach, Virgil Fern\u00e1ndez, quien se jubila despu\u00e9s de m\u00e1s de 10 a\u00f1os en la agencia y m\u00e1s de cuatro d\u00e9cadas de servicio en agencias de bomberos en el sur de Florida.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConf\u00edo en que estoy entregando el departamento al mejor candidato posible, quien seguir\u00e1 fortaleciendo la agencia en los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os\u201d, dijo Fern\u00e1ndez.<\/p>\n<p>Abello comenz\u00f3 su carrera como bombera en Miami Beach hace m\u00e1s de 19 a\u00f1os y r\u00e1pidamente se distingui\u00f3, ascendiendo al rango de teniente con especializaci\u00f3n en reclutamiento y administraci\u00f3n. Posteriormente fue nombrada jefa de divisi\u00f3n de servicios de apoyo, jefa de divisi\u00f3n de capacitaci\u00f3n y jefa de divisi\u00f3n de rescate, tres divisiones importantes dentro del departamento.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMe siento honrada de servir a los residentes de Miami Beach como jefa de bomberos y continuar\u00e9 manteniendo la tradici\u00f3n de excelencia de nuestro departamento\u201d, dijo Abello, quien fue nombrada para su puesto actual como subdirectora de administraci\u00f3n en 2020, donde ha participado en todos los asuntos e iniciativas importantes del departamento.<\/p>\n<p>Durante la pandemia de COVID-19, Abello dirigi\u00f3 la estrategia integral de respuesta del departamento, que incluy\u00f3 el desarrollo de procedimientos operativos est\u00e1ndar y la colaboraci\u00f3n con las agencias de salud pertinentes. Logr\u00f3 poner en marcha con \u00e9xito el programa de vacunaci\u00f3n contra la COVID-19 de la agencia, que proporcion\u00f3 vacunas a m\u00e1s de 13\u00a0000 residentes vulnerables.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n lider\u00f3 dos rigurosos ciclos de acreditaci\u00f3n ISO Clase 1, basados en el Programa de Clasificaci\u00f3n de Supresi\u00f3n de Incendios, dise\u00f1ado para evaluar la capacidad de prevenci\u00f3n y extinci\u00f3n de incendios de los cuerpos de bomberos.
