Japan Ocean Day Beach Cleanup

July 14 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join Clean Miami Beach for a Sunday fun day morning with a yoga session by Esencia Wellness, meaningful Blue Santa beach cleanup with Clean Miami Beach, followed by a frozen cocktail tasting by Ketal One, a 360 photobooth and stunning Japanese calligraphy by Kei’s Smile Factory.

Our cleanup will be supported by the Miami Beach Sister City Committee Fujisawa in Japan.

Marine Day (海の日, Umi no Hi), also known as “Ocean Day” or “Sea Day”, is a public holiday in Japan usually celebrated on the third Monday in July. The purpose of the holiday is to give thanks for the ocean’s bounty and to consider the importance of the ocean to Japan as a maritime nation.

What is Blue Santa? A Japanese tradition when volunteers dress as blue Santa Clauses who pick up trash to give kids the gift of clean seas.
