Beata Rikhter, Garden Compost Manager, leads this interesting and informative workshop. Learn about the critters that turn your food waste into valuable compost that we can use in our gardens and even on indoor plants. In gratitude for how this interdependence can improve our lives, attendees will get up-close with the compost at its various stages, identifying and interacting with the “primary, secondary, and tertiary” organisms in the food web. You will even get to sift your own compost to take home and share with friends and family.
Gloves and tools will be provided. Please wear clothes that can get dirty and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated (we do have a fountain to fill up bottles with cold, filtered water). And don’t forget all your questions and anybody you know who loves those crawly creatures.
There is no cost to attend but please RSVP.
