La cheffe Digna Abello devient la premi\u00e8re femme \u00e0 diriger le service d'incendie de Miami Beach depuis la cr\u00e9ation de l'agence le 26 janvier 1921. Avec sa nomination unanime, la cheffe Abello devient \u00e9galement la premi\u00e8re femme \u00e0 occuper le poste de cheffe des pompiers municipaux dans l'histoire du comt\u00e9 de Miami-Dade.<\/p>\n

Depuis qu'elle a d\u00e9but\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re de pompier \u00e0 Miami Beach il y a plus de 19 ans, elle est guid\u00e9e par une solide morale et par la conviction que le leadership est une question de service pour le bien d'autrui. D\u00e8s le d\u00e9but de sa carri\u00e8re, elle s'est rapidement distingu\u00e9e, gravissant les \u00e9chelons de l'agence et s'impliquant dans toutes les questions et initiatives importantes du service.<\/p>\n

Pendant la pand\u00e9mie de COVID-19, la cheffe Abello a dirig\u00e9 la strat\u00e9gie globale d'intervention du d\u00e9partement, notamment le programme de vaccination de l'agence, qui a permis de vacciner plus de 13\u00a0000 r\u00e9sidents vuln\u00e9rables. Soucieuse d'offrir un service public d'excellence, elle a supervis\u00e9 deux cycles rigoureux d'accr\u00e9ditation afin de maintenir la prestigieuse certification ISO Classe 1 de l'Insurance Services Office, obtenue par un peu plus de 11 agences de pompiers sur les 37\u00a0983 participantes aux \u00c9tats-Unis.<\/p>\n

Bien qu'elle soit honor\u00e9e d'\u00eatre la premi\u00e8re femme \u00e0 occuper ce poste, elle esp\u00e8re ardemment que davantage de femmes envisageront une carri\u00e8re dans les services d'incendie et aspireront \u00e0 des postes de direction. La cheffe Abello est fi\u00e8re de servir les habitants de Miami Beach, qu'elle d\u00e9crit comme une ville vibrante de culture internationale, m\u00eal\u00e9e d'espoir, de libert\u00e9 et d'opportunit\u00e9s pour tous.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
