La situation a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 changer en juillet 1912, lorsque les fr\u00e8res John Newton Lummus et James Edward Lummus ont d\u00e9pos\u00e9 le premier plan officiel d&#039;am\u00e9nagement foncier sur l&#039;\u00eele-barri\u00e8re de l&#039;autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la baie de Biscayne.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 l&#039;\u00e9poque, l&#039;\u00eele \u00e9tait largement inaccessible. Il fallait se d\u00e9placer en bateau et aucun pont ne reliait le continent. Pourtant, les fr\u00e8res Lummus, deux hommes d&#039;affaires \u00e9minents et anciens maires de Miami, y virent un potentiel inexploit\u00e9. Ils s&#039;associa \u00e0 l&#039;entrepreneur Carl G. Fisher, pionnier de l&#039;industrie automobile am\u00e9ricaine et promoteur talentueux, pour cr\u00e9er l&#039;Ocean Beach Realty Company. Leur objectif \u00e9tait de transformer le territoire en une destination touristique de premier ordre.<\/p>\n<p>Le d\u00e9p\u00f4t du plan a permis \u00e0 l&#039;entreprise de commencer \u00e0 lotir le terrain pour la vente et le d\u00e9veloppement, marquant ainsi le d\u00e9but officiel de Miami Beach en tant que communaut\u00e9 planifi\u00e9e. Leur vision \u00e9tait ambitieuse. Ils imaginaient une ville qui attirerait les visiteurs fortun\u00e9s du nord, attir\u00e9s par la promesse du soleil, de la brise marine et d&#039;un \u00e9chappatoire aux hivers rigoureux.<\/p>\n<p>La construction du pont Collins d\u00e9buta peu apr\u00e8s et s&#039;acheva en 1913, reliant Miami \u00e0 l&#039;\u00eele et rendant le d\u00e9veloppement accessible par la route. Cette nouvelle connexion stimula une croissance rapide. Le 26 mars 1915, la ville de Miami Beach fut officiellement constitu\u00e9e, avec John N.
