On September 14, 2022, the Mayor and City Commission of Miami Beach passed Resolution 2022-32310 adopting October 2022 as “LGBTQ History Month”.  The resolution was sponsored by Mayor Dan Gelber, Vice Mayor Alex Fernandez, and Commissioner David Richardson.

The Resolution seeks to remind the community of the tremendous strides the LGBTQ community has made in seeking equality, despite the homophobic and transphobic bills introduced and adopted across the country, including the State of Florida.
