Calling All Show Stopping Seniors

(Miami Beach, FL) Jan 14, 2020 -

The City of Miami Beach is on a mission to prove that it’s never too late to shine with its first ever citywide Seniors Got Talent event – a competition for residents 55 years and older. The contest is seeking individuals who can showcase their performance abilities in various areas, including musical performance as a group or solo, dance performance as a group or solo or any another performance category.

“Every day our Miami Beach Seniors amaze us with their ageless energy, enthusiasm and talent,” said Mayor Dan Gelber. “Seeing them perform on stage will be inspiring – a model for healthy aging.”

Contestants will have the opportunity to sign up for auditions, on a first come, first served basis until January 17, 2020. Applications must be submitted in person to either Flamingo Park (999 11 Street), Scott Rakow Youth Center (2700 Sheridan Avenue) or North Shore Park Youth Center (501 72 Street.) A select number of applicants will be called back for auditions based on the talent listed and the performer’s biography.

Auditions for Seniors Got Talent will be held on February 20, 2020 at the North Shore Park Youth Center, 501 72 Street, where contestants will perform before a panel of judges. Judges will evaluate each contestant and announce six finalists at the end of the auditions.

The Seniors Got Talent finals will take place on March 19, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Miami Beach Convention Center, where the finalists will perform before a live audience and a panel of judges.
