In addition, participants are introduced to community-based services and resources, many of which are free, including Success University, All-Stars, Parent-Child Program and Homeless Outreach. All volunteers are eligible to receive up to four community service hours in exchange for their time.

Hundreds of volunteers of all ages will gather for a day of public service at and around North Beach Oceanside Park, 8101 Collins Avenue. On and off-site projects include the following:

  • Beach cleanups across three different locations
  • Child finger printing
  • CPR training
  • Cross-cultural engagement activities
  • Community landscape beautification
  • Intergenerational recreation program
  • Homeless outreach
  • School garden beautification project
  • Tri-fitness experience

A portion of the event will focus on educating the public about the importance of educational achievement and school attendance as well as offer parenting tips, resource lists and referrals to community-based programs.

The event will also offer information on the many services available in Miami Beach, including: career services, job training, counseling, youth development programs, truancy prevention initiatives, educational support, and health care services among others. The One Blood Mobile will be on site encouraging blood donations.

Volunteers will each receive a free t-shirt courtesy of the City of Miami Beach. MB Suncare will provide free sunscreen for attendees to remain safe from the sun. Prizes and giveaways are made possible by the City of Miami Beach.

The Miami Beach Service Partnership and Success University are funded by The Children’s Trust. The Children’s Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County.
