Daniel Morgalo

Captain Daniel Morgalo has been a law enforcement officer for 25 years and joined the Miami Beach Police Department in 1999. During his career, he has served in a variety of positions and ranks including patrol operations, canine, crime suppression, honor guard, criminal investigations, internal affairs and training.

In his current assignment, Captain Morgalo commands detectives and supervisors assigned to the Street Crimes Section of the Criminal Investigations Division. Street Crimes Detectives’ responsibilities include Robbery, Narcotics, Human Trafficking and Crime Suppression Investigations throughout Miami Beach.

Captain Morgalo also serves as the department’s FEMA Training and Exercise Coordinator where he utilizes his FEMA Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP) certification to assist the department and region in maintaining their preparedness to the multitude of Homeland Security related threats by planning and conducting training exercises. He has also served as the Commander of the Hostage Negotiation and the Mobile Field Force Teams.
