Growing up in Miami Beach and being blessed with four generations of family living nearby, Micky Steinberg understands the value of providing a strong quality of life for all residents and businesses in our city. Elected in 2013 to the City Commission, Micky brought her passionate teamwork approach to City Hall and has championed various initiatives, some of which include strengthening ethics ordinances, human rights, finding solutions to alleviate everyday traffic congestion throughout the city and supporting our local Miami Beach public schools.
Commissioner Steinberg has a long and impressive record of community involvement. Her strong commitment to Miami Beach residents includes serving as a member of the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority Committee, the Miami Beach Police Citizens Relations Committee as well as ample involvement with various nonprofit organizations, such as the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami. Micky is also a lifetime member of Hadassah. As a result of her efforts to better our community, Micky has also been recognized as a Woman of Valor by the Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center.
Micky currently serves as Chair of the Neighborhood and Quality of Life Committee, participates on the County's Tourism Development Committee and is the City's representative at the Miami-Dade League of Cities and the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization (TPO). She is also a City Commission Designee of the Committee for Quality Education in Miami Beach and has completed the Good Government Initiative's Leaders of Excellence Program for elected officials in state and local government.
Micky’s professional career started in the hospitality industry in Miami Beach where she worked to enhance the experience of residents, and visitors by focusing on first-class customer service. After several years in hospitality business, she shifted her career to real estate. As a licensed realtor, she applied her extensive knowledge of Miami Beach’s dynamic real estate market to work for her clients.
Micky’s fondest memories in Miami Beach include the time she spent with her loving grandmother, a long time Miami Beach resident, who played a central role in her upbringing. At an early age, Micky and her sisters were taught the values of hard work and determination by her parents. In July 2005, Micky married Richard Steinberg, a former State Representative and Miami Beach native whose family is also dedicated to public service. They are the proud parents of two amazing children, Chloe and JD.
