Ian Robinson

Captain Ian Robinson began exploring law enforcement as a career with the Miami Beach
Police Department as a police explorer in 1991.  In 1994, Captain Robinson
became an officer with the Miami-Dade Police Department working in a variety of
assignments and districts. In 1998, Captain Robinson was hired by the Miami
Beach Police Department where he has since held several ranks and served in
numerous positions including: patrol operations, criminal investigations, and
internal affairs. His most recent assignment is as the Captain of the Entertainment District within the operations division of the Department.

Captain Robinson holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration from Barry
University and is a graduate of numerous leadership courses including the
University of Louisville's Southern Police Institute's Command Officers
Development School and Leadership in Police Organizations course as well as the Senior Management Institute for Police (S.M.I.P) course.
