Miami Beach, Fl\u00f3rida<\/strong> – In a highly  anticipated exhibition match, the Miami Beach Senior High School Lady Hi Tides softball team will team up with the Hi-Tides boys baseball team for their annual end-of-season coed showdown as the City of Miami Beach welcomes residents back to the upgraded Flamingo Park softball field on Quinta-feira, 14 de maio, \u00e0s 16h.<\/strong> O campo de softball est\u00e1 localizado em Rua 13 e Avenida Meridian<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“The completion of this ballfield reflects our dedication to delivering high-quality, safe, and sustainable infrastructure for our residents and talented student-athletes,” disse o prefeito de Miami Beach, Steven Meiner<\/strong>, que far\u00e1 o lan\u00e7amento cerimonial da primeira bola no jogo misto para reabrir o campo ap\u00f3s um projeto de renova\u00e7\u00e3o que durou um ano.<\/p>\n

Financiado pela Obriga\u00e7\u00e3o Geral de 2018 aprovada pelos eleitores de Miami Beach, o projeto transformou o campo de softball Andy Diamond, de 63.000 p\u00e9s quadrados (aproximadamente 5.853 m\u00b2), em um espa\u00e7o recreativo de primeira linha, com instala\u00e7\u00f5es modernizadas, condi\u00e7\u00f5es de campo aprimoradas e \u00e1reas para espectadores ampliadas. O projeto de 6,4 milh\u00f5es de d\u00f3lares incluiu melhorias no sistema de drenagem, novo gramado sint\u00e9tico, bancos de reservas e arquibancadas modernizados, novas gaiolas de rebatida, cercas e redes mais altas, 52 novos postes de ilumina\u00e7\u00e3o LED, paisagismo e novas cal\u00e7adas de concreto. O enchimento do gramado sint\u00e9tico \u00e9 feito de um material de madeira macia renov\u00e1vel, utilizado para reduzir a temperatura do gramado. O novo campo tamb\u00e9m incorpora amortecedores que promovem uma drenagem r\u00e1pida e proporcionam um desempenho de seguran\u00e7a superior.<\/p>\n

The Lady High-Tides play all of their home games and practice at the softball field while the boys play their home games at the nearby Flamingo Park Baseball Field, which was recently renamed in honor of baseball coach Stanley “Skip” Bertman. The legendary coach graduated from Miami Beach Senior High School in 1956 and later returned to lead the school’s baseball program to a state championship and two runner-up finishes before making his mark at the collegiate level. Adult recreation groups will also begin using the updated softball field this summer.<\/p>\n
