Resumen
Black History Month is a time to celebrate innovation, leadership, and the entrepreneurs shaping what’s next. This February, Miami Beach is proud to support a pitch competition spotlighting Black tech founders who are building bold ideas and driving real impact. With funding, accelerator access, and community visibility on the line, this is an opportunity for startups ready to step forward and be seen.
In recognition of Black History Month, the City of Miami Beach is proud to sponsor and partner with eMerge Americas for the Celebrate! Black History Month Pitch Competition, part of the eMerge eMpower Series. The event spotlights Black founders who are building innovative tech companies and shaping the future of the startup ecosystem.
Six early-stage companies will be selected to pitch live before a panel of judges, competing for a $2,500 grant prize and fast-tracked consideration for the eMerge Global Startup Accelerator and Showcase 2026. The competition is open to startups with at least one founding team member identifying as a Black founder in tech. Miami Beach Economic Development Director, Steven Anthony, will serve as one of the judges.
The evening will also serve as a celebration of Black excellence in entrepreneurship, featuring networking, light bites, and community connection. The pitch competition takes place on Thursday, February 19, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Andrés Carne de Res, located at 455 Lincoln Road.
Through partnerships like this, Miami Beach continues to support inclusive economic growth and elevate founders who are driving innovation, opportunity, and impact across our business community.
Applications to pitch are due by Sunday, February 8.
