—At the Miami Beach Bandshell, Sand Bowl and Lummus Park—
Miami Beach, Florida – With World Cup fever spreading throughout South Florida, the City of Miami Beach is hosting more than a dozen watch parties in North Beach and South Beach.
“The world’s eyes are on Miami Beach, and there is no better place on the planet to experience this historic tournament than right in our own backyard,” said El alcalde de Miami Beach, Steven Meiner.. “Whatever team you are cheering for, I invite you to bring your passion, join the electric atmosphere of our city, and experience the unrivaled spirit of fútbol together as one community.”
Free watch parties will be held at the Concha acústica de Miami Beach and adjacent Sand Bowl in North Beach as well as Parque Lummus just off Ocean Drive in South Beach. In addition, many restaurants and bars are planning their own watch parties throughout the city — from Lincoln Road to Washington Avenue, Española Way to North Beach and world-famous Ocean Drive, which is featuring Ocean Drive Open Streets with more than 30 participating restaurants and some 100 viewing screens along the world’s most recognizable oceanfront.
“Providing community-focused activations around the biggest World Cup matches was a priority for us, and we’re proud to bring these watch parties to both our residents and visitors from around the world, added Miami Beach Commissioner Joseph Magazine.
Free watch parties take over the Concha acústica de Miami Beach at 7275 Collins Ave. on the following dates and times:
- Monday, June 22 — Argentina takes on Austria at 1 p.m. Gates open at 11 a.m.
- Wednesday, June 24 — Scotland vs. Brazil at 6 p.m. Gates open at 4 p.m.
- Tuesday, July 14 — Teams to be determined for the semifinal match at 3 p.m. Gates open at 1 p.m.
- Wednesday, July 15 — Teams to be determined for the semifinal match at 3 p.m. Gates open at 1 p.m.
In South Beach, catch all the action at free watch parties in Parque Lummus at Ocean Drive and 14 Street on the following dates and times:
- Monday, July 6 — Teams to be determined for the round of 16 matches at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
- Tuesday, July 7 — Teams to be determined for the round of 16 matches at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.
- Jueves, 9 de julio — Teams to be determined for the quarterfinal match at 4 p.m.
- Friday, July 10 — Teams to be determined for the quarterfinal match at 3 p.m.
- Saturday, July 11 — Teams to be determined for the quarterfinal matches at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Bronze Final and FIFA World Cup Final™
Be part of soccer history at the official watch parties for the Bronze Final and FIFA World Cup Final™ at the Sand Bowl along the 72 Street beach behind the Miami Beach Bandshell.
- Saturday, July 18 — Teams to be determined for the Bronze Final at 5 p.m. Gates open at 3 p.m.
- Sunday, July 19 — Teams to be determined for the FIFA World Cup Final at 3 p.m. Gates open at 1 p.m.
