—Mayor and three commissioners will be sworn in on Dec. 15 —
Miami Beach, Florida – The City of Miami Beach will hold an inauguration event on Monday, Dec. 15 en 9 am to swear in Mayor Steven Meiner to a second two-year term as well as three Miami Beach commissioners, including political newcomer Monica Matteo-Salinas, whose Group 1 election to a four-year term was decided in a Dec. 9 runoff vote.
Incumbent Commissioners Laura Dominguez and Alex J. Fernandez will be sworn in to new four-year terms based on the results of the Nov. 4 general election in the Group II and Group III races respectively.
“I am grateful to the residents of Miami Beach for their trust and support,” said El alcalde Steven Meiner. “My goal is to serve every resident, making our city the safest and best place to live in America. Where quality of life comes first.”
The inauguration ceremony will take place in the Miami Beach City Hall Commission Chambers en 1700 Convention Center Drive, Third Floor.
“It is a profound honor to be sworn in once again as your commissioner,” said Comisionada Laura Domínguez. “I am deeply grateful to the residents of Miami Beach for their confidence in my leadership. Together with the new Commission, I look forward to building on our progress, strengthening quality of life in every neighborhood, and ensuring that our city remains safe, resilient, and welcoming for all.”

Fernández. “I look forward to continuing to lead with integrity and collegial respect as we advance policies that strengthen quality of life, restore affordability for residents, revitalize our local economy by streamlining bureaucracy, and invest in critical infrastructure for our city’s future.”
“I am humbled by your trust in me and inspired by your hope,” said Commissioner Monica Matteo-Salinas. “This inauguration is not about one person—it’s about all of us.
