A comissária de Miami Beach, Laura Dominguez, inicia seu mandato como vice-prefeita.
Miami Beach, Flórida – The City of Miami Beach announces that Commissioner Laura Dominguez has been named Vice Mayor and will serve in this capacity through July 31, 2026.
In Miami Beach’s rotating system of governance, the Vice Mayor plays a vital role in supporting the Mayor and ensuring continuity of leadership. When the Mayor is unavailable, the Vice Mayor steps in to preside over City Commission meetings, represent the city at official functions, and help advance key priorities on behalf of residents, businesses, and visitors.
“It is an honor to serve as Vice Mayor of Miami Beach,” said Dominguez. “I am committed to supporting the work of my colleagues on the Commission, and our community as we continue to move Miami Beach forward. Though the role is often seen as more ceremonial, it does reaffirm the strength of our democracy and stability within our government.”
Commissioner Dominguez brings a strong record of public service and regional leadership to the position, including her work on economic development, neighborhood quality of life, public safety, and her involvement with regional organizations that promote tourism and economic vitality.
“As Vice Mayor, Laura Dominguez will continue to champion initiatives that strengthen Miami Beach’s neighborhoods, support local businesses, and enhance the City’s reputation as a world-class destination,” said Prefeito de Miami Beach, Steven Meiner.
The city’s rotating Vice Mayor system reflects Miami Beach’s collaborative approach to governance, ensuring that multiple members of the Commission have the opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity while maintaining stability and continuity in City operations.
