— 150 new parking spaces will be available for this weekend’s World Cup watch parties —
Miami Beach, Flórida – The City of Miami Beach will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, July 17 at 9 a.m. to take the wraps off 150 new parking spaces near the site of the future Deauville Hotel complex. The new spaces are located in an existing parking garage at 260 67 Street. Vehicles should enter on 67 Street.
“This parking structure has been a dormant drain on the community for about 10 years,” explained Comissária de Miami Beach, Tanya K. Bhatt. “This marks the first significant infusion of resident parking spaces in North Beach in decades — and it's coming not a moment too soon as World Cup final round watch parties are planned for this weekend at the nearby Miami Beach Bandshell. This amenity, among many for which I pushed as part of the Deauville Hotel development project, will serve the community well for years to come."
The additional 150 spaces represent half of a total of 300 planned public spaces in the garage under a development agreement between the City of Miami Beach and developer Terra, which plans to build the next iteration of the Deauville Hotel on the property that once housed the iconic Deauville Beach Resort. That hotel was demolished in 2022 after it fell into disrepair.
“North Beach needed more parking and these new public spaces are an important step forward,” shared Prefeito de Miami Beach, Steven Meiner. “They will provide convenience for residents and visitors while supporting local businesses, community events and the future redevelopment of the Deauville site.”
Miami Beach residents who signed up for resident parking rates can park in the garage for $1 per hour while nonresidents will pay $2 per hour. General event flat rates of $15 will apply this weekend though Miami Beach residents qualify for a 50% discount on event pricing.
Only electronic parking payments made using the ParkMobile or PayByPhone apps will be accepted at the 67 Street garage. No cash payments will be permitted. The garage will be open 24 hours a day.
“This facility reflects a long-term investment in the continued evolution of Miami Beach,” said David Martin, CEO of Terra. “Infrastructure is essential to supporting economic activity, improving mobility, and enhancing the urban experience. Publicly accessible parking is a critical component of creating a more walkable, connected community, making it easier for residents and visitors to access nearby businesses, cultural institutions, and public spaces. We are proud to partner with the City of Miami Beach on projects that strengthen the city’s long-term competitiveness, improve quality of life, and create lasting value for the community.”
Local residents registered in Residential Parking Zone 26 may use the garage for overnight parking based on a first-come, first-served basis.
