Miami Beach, Florida — Today, in celebration of the Sister City relationship between Miami Beach and Basel, Switzerland, the City of Miami Beach is proud to welcome and host a distinguished delegation from the City of Basel, along with representatives from the Consulate General of Switzerland in Atlanta and the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce at The Art of Diplomacy, a Miami Beach Sister Cities Committee curated event taking place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. en Andres Carne de Res (455 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach). The visit coincides with Art Week Miami Beach, a globally renowned cultural event that transforms the city into the epicenter of the international art world each winter.

During their stay, the Swiss delegation will engage with Mayor Steven Meiner, City Commissioners and leaders from Miami Beach’s vibrant business and cultural communities. The visit aims to deepen bilateral ties and explore new avenues for impactful cultural and economic collaboration.

Sister Cities Miami Beach plays a vital role during Art Week by serving as a global cultural bridge, fostering international collaboration, and amplifying the economic and social impact of art on the city and beyond. Sister Cities programs are designed to strengthen cultural and economic ties between Miami Beach and its partner cities worldwide. During Art Week, these relationships attract international dignitaries, consuls and cultural leaders, reinforcing Miami Beach’s reputation as a hub for global dialogue.

Established in 2011, the Sister City partnership between Miami Beach and Basel served as a model of international cooperation, promoting peace, mutual respect, and shared prosperity through cultural and civic engagement.
