In this multimedia program, experience the expressive melodies of works for solo oboe while immersed in the paintings, poems and stories that directly inspired the composers who imagined them. Featuring a program of selections written since the year 2000 by a full roster of living composers, this recital endeavors to provide fresh new perspectives on contemporary music for this sonorous double reed instrument.
Presented in the intimate Truist Pavilion, Solo Spotlights feature one or two Fellows in recital programs they design.
Solo Spotlights are NWS BLUE Projects. Standing for Build, Learn, Understand and Experiment, the NWS BLUE program is a combination of leadership and entrepreneurship training and hands-on experimentation that provides Fellows with a comprehensive skill set to complement their musical training.
