The City of Miami Beach’s Economic Development Department is dedicated to fostering a robust economy that stimulates balanced growth by connecting business, community, people and jobs through business assistance and resources, corridor development and redevelopment, real estate, and creating a diverse economy for this dynamic and resilient community.
The Economic Development Department’s top goal is to establish, grow and diversify the city’s business community by promoting the city’s image and assets, supporting businesses, and encouraging real estate development, which focus on two key areas to support the rich and diverse Miami Beach cultural and business communities:

Rickelle Williams
Rickelle Williams is an effective, intuitive administrator, strategic thinker, and team builder serving as Assistant City Manager, following her appointment as Interim City Manager. During her tenure as Interim City Manager, Williams was responsible for the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget development process, successful planning and execution of Memorial Day Weekend activities, appointment of the City’s (and Miami-Dade County’s) first woman Fire Chief, and oversight of the collective bargaining process with multiple unions.
