From Questions to Solutions: Business Ready Day Delivers

Summary

Miami Beach provides entrepreneurs real‑time guidance and cross‑department support to accelerate business progress.

One stop, real progress. At our August Business Ready Day, an attendee advanced permitting, vendor enrollment, and financing conversations (all before lunch), thanks to coordinated support from City departments and County partners.

On August 20, 2026, Miami Beach hosted its quarterly Business Ready Day at City Hall. The event offered a full day of coordinated support for entrepreneurs, property owners, and business operators seeking clarity on permitting, licensing, compliance, and business planning.

Throughout the day, attendees met one‑on‑one with representatives from key City departments, including Planning and Zoning, Building, Finance, and Fire, as well as Miami‑Dade County partners like the Tax Collector’s Office, Water and Sewer, and DERM. Bringing these agencies together in one location allowed participants to move from questions to actionable next steps without the delays often associated with navigating multiple offices. Many found that direct access to multiple departments at once helped clarify requirements, reduce uncertainty, and accelerate project timelines.

In addition to regulatory guidance, Business Ready Day featured several resource partners dedicated to business growth, financing, and long‑term support. BrightStar Credit Union provided information on banking options and financing tools, while representatives from CitiBank’s new North Beach branch offered insights into local banking services tailored for small businesses. CareerSource shared workforce development resources, including hiring assistance and training programs, and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) was on site to offer guidance on federal support programs and funding opportunities. Together, these partners ensured attendees left with both practical direction and meaningful pathways for future development.

As part of Miami Beach’s broader economic development strategy, Business Ready Day reflects the City’s commitment to accessible service, cross‑department collaboration, and proactive engagement with the business community. By convening City and County partners under one roof, the City continues to demonstrate its role as a responsive partner dedicated to helping entrepreneurs succeed.

The next quarterly session takes place on Thursday, November 19 at City Hall’s Building Department Conference Room (2nd Floor). Entrepreneurs and business owners are encouraged to attend for real‑time assistance with permitting, compliance, licensing, and additional business resources.
