Miami Beach Celebrates Local Entrepreneurs at Business Concierge & Licensing Day

During Small Business Week 2025, the City of Miami Beach Economic Development Department proudly hosted the annual Business Concierge & Licensing Day at City Hall, bringing essential resources together under one roof to support local entrepreneurs and business owners.

This collaborative event was designed to simplify the process of navigating local and county regulations. Attendees received personalized, one-on-one support from dedicated staff representing multiple City departments, including Planning, Building, Fire, Code Compliance, and Procurement, all working together to answer questions, provide guidance on vendor registration, and clarify requirements for permits and licenses.

City departments also supported specific business needs including:

• Outdoor Dining Permit Program  - Public Works Department
• Pop-Up Venue Permit Program – Tourism and Culture Department
• Business Emergency Response Team – Department of Emergency Management

Attendees gained easy access to capacity-building support from:

• CareerSource South Florida - providing workforce development and hiring resources critical for small businesses.

• The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) - offering invaluable advice on federal funding opportunities and small business support.

Miami-Dade County participated with hands-on assistance from:

• The Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) – providing expertise on environmental approvals and compliance necessary for City and County Certificates of Use (CU) and Business Tax Receipts (BTR).
• The Miami-Dade County Office of the Tax Collector -  helping simplify the Local Business Tax Receipt process.

This collaborative and resource packed event offered invaluable information and easy access to resources needed to create, maintain, strengthen, and advance our local economy and business community.
