Miami Beach Collects Supplies for Venezuela

— The South American nation was hit by back-to-back major earthquakes —

Miami Beach, FL – The City of Miami Beach is collecting donations of tents, camping gear, diapers, canned food, first-aid kits and other essential supplies for earthquake-ravaged Venezuela. Each of the city’s four fire stations will serve as drop-off sites between Monday, June 29 and Sunday, July 12 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m:

  • Fire Station 1, 1051 Jefferson Avenue
  • Fire Station 2, 2300 Pine Tree Drive
  • Fire Station 3, 5303 Collins Avenue
  • Fire Station 4, 6880 Indian Creek Drive

“My heart goes out to the people of Venezuela for those who lost their lives, and now many people are experiencing displacement and a life-threatening lack of food and essential supplies,” said Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner. “The generosity in the hearts of Miami Beach residents and businesses will hear Venezuela’s call as we have in the past to lend a helping hand to those in dire need.”

The following types of donations are being accepted at all Miami Beach fire stations:

  • Tarps
  • Water
  • Flashlights
  • Batteries
  • Large trash bags
  • Tents
  • Work gloves
  • Canned goods with at least a one-year expiration date
  • Solar-powered lights
  • Solar power banks
  • Hygiene products (toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper, etc.)
  • Baby diapers
  • First-aid kits

Used clothing and linens will not be accepted. All of the donations will be presented to the Global Empowerment Mission, which is also accepting volunteers and monetary donations.
