Morel Doucet - Avalon Hotel
To Bloom Under the Midnight Stars unfolds as a nocturnal meditation on resilience, transformation and belonging. Inspired by South Florida’s lush ecosystems, native and cultivated flora emerge from deep fields of color, illuminated as if by moonlight. Suspended between the observed and the imagined, the landscape becomes a living archive—holding traces of migration, cultural memory and environmental change. Here, beauty is neither passive nor untouched; it persists through uncertainty, adapting and taking root in new terrain. Through heightened color and scale, the work invites viewers to pause within this dreamlike ecology and consider the fragile bonds connecting land, history and community. Even beneath the weight of darkness, life reaches outward, insisting on its right to bloom.
